Job Description
Randstad is looking for a slitter operator for a growing company on Jacksonville's Northside. You will be responsible for setting up and running the slitter, cut prodcuts to the proper size and measurements according to customer specifications. Help to produce the finest quality product at rates and standards consistent with the Company’s desire to be a Preferred Supplier of cost-effective, top-quality products. Pay will be based on the experience, starting at $20 an hour.
salary: $20 - $22 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 6 AM - 4 PM
education: High School
Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates slitter machine to cut continuous lengths of material into strips of specified widths.
- Observes flow of material in the slitting and rewinding operation and examines cut strips for defects; adjusts as needed.
- Disengages winding shaft and removes narrow rolls of material.
- Participate in continuous improvement and effectively communicate opportunities to improve efficiencies and effectiveness for this position.
- Assist in all phases of machine operation as needed for breaks, changes, or special projects.
- Keep up to date with any ongoing machine improvements.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area. Dispose of waste, cores and banding in receptacles. Assist with bale preparation.
- Foster an attitude of lean thinking, sustain improvements and follow lean initiatives.
The essential functions of this role include:
- working in a smoke free environment

- manual lifting up to 50lbs
